FAQS

HOw do i purchase your bread?

To buy bread simply come by the shop and see what looks good! We no longer offer online ordering but you are welcome to call the shop to see what’s currently available or to have something set aside for you to pick up that day. While do our best to answer the phone during business hours sometimes we get busy and we aren’t able to catch a call, if you reach our voicemail please leave a message and we will get back to you within the hour.

CAN YOU SLICE MY BREAD?

We can slice our two larger loaves, the sourdough boule and the rye. Our slicer only has one setting and it’s about 1/2” thick. Due to the dry climate here we find that sliced bread goes stale faster than if you slice as you go so be sure to wrap up your bread more carefully.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY BREAD?

We recommended storing our bread in a loose plastic bag (a recycled grocery bag works well) or wrap it up in a Bee’s Wrap canvas sheet, which we sell at the shop. It also helps to put the cut side of your loaf down to minimize the interior of your bread’s exposure to air. We do not recommend refrigerating our bread, there really isn’t a need and it can make the crust soggy. Our bread freezes really well, just make sure to put it in a freezer safe ziplock bag.

DO YOU MAKE GLUTEN FREE BREAD?

We do not. We take allergies very seriously and due to our extremely small production space we feel it would be difficult to produce a truly gluten free bread in the same bakery that we make the rest of our menu. For gluten free breads and baked goods, we recommend checking out Revolution Bakery in the Design Center.

CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE WHOLESALE OR SPECIAL ORDERS?

We are able to fulfill some wholesale and special order requests. Please email hello@breadshopsf.com to inquire.
